Baby Memories

I was cleaning and came across a journal of mine from when the kids were really little, Joey was almost two and Angel just a few months.... here are some of the things I wrote:

"She is a sweet little plum who loves to have you look at her. If you stay long enough she will tell you a story of goos and gurgles. Her smile can be bashful, michevious or just big. Her eyes tell a story of their own. You can tell she is learning so much. Memorizing all she sees. She is so beautiful. Life is beautiful."

"He cries for me but I am not enough. He won't close his eyes until he touches me. He drifts back to sleep. A toy jingles on the bed. Joey sleepily smiles and manages a small laugh before going back to sleep. I am comforted that he knows I love him."

"She kicks her legs the best she can. She knows me now; she loves me and reaches for me. She cries when I leave the room. It is a bittersweet feeling to see this reaction. Sometimes I want to hug her forever but I have to leave."

"Their love for me is pure, innocent and the deapest I have ever known"

"I love you too, Mommy" -Joey 1 year 10 months "He warms my soul."

"He loves the phone. He pretends to talk. When he is actually talking to someone he won't give up the phone. I love how he has realized that good-bye means he can't talk to them anymore. He refuses to say good-bye. He is a wonderful copy-cat. He will repeat whatever you tell him to and will repeat any question you as him in full. It is so fun to watch him learn and grow."

"She lays there, so peaceful and relaxed; her arms are limp. She hears a noise and tries to open her heavy eyelids. They are just too burdensome. They open slightly, flutter and close. She gives into sleep."

"I wake up in the morning to find that not only has my 1and 1/2 year old son crawled into bed with me, but that he is staring at me peacefully with wide eyes. I open my eyes just a little and give him a slight smile. He returns such a grin that he blushes and hides his face in the pillow."

"Angel stares at me with bright eyes. She stares for so long now, memorizing my face. She smiles with me. She knows when it's real."

"She is so alert and aware now. She has a great big cherub smile with deep dimples. Her eyes dance when she is happy. She gets so excited that she kicks and wiggles. What a joy."
